I studied with exceptional teachers including Robert Heinecken, Adrian Saxe, Bill Brice and Chris Burden and was awarded an Arts Council grant and award for achievement.

University of St. Andrews, St. Andrews, Scotland.  UCLA Education Abroad Program student, 1980-1981.

University of Southern California, School of Cinema-Television, MFA, 2001

I served as a TA in the animation and interactive media departments and created short films including an episode of the omnibus film Human Rights Now, (Stephen R. Johnson, producer) shown worldwide at Amnesty International concerts commemorating the 40th anniversary of the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights featuring Bruce Springsteen and Peter Gabriel. I created two short animated films: Lone Star Over China and Whole Lot of Aloha Going On exhibited at numerous film festivals.

TEACHING/EMPLOYMENT

Azusa Pacific University. Adjunct Faculty, Department of Art. Taught digital media classes (3D Modeling/animation and motion graphics) for fine art applications. Azusa, California2014-2015.

Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising. Lead Instructor, interior design and digital media departments, responsible for creating curriculum and teaching classes in 3D computer animation, 2D graphics, environmental and furniture design. Los Angeles, 2003-2015.

University of Southern California. Teaching Assistant, responsible for teaching lecture and lab classes in animation and interactive media, 1998-2001.

Mike Roy Art & Design, Principal, multi-disciplinary design firm. Graphic and product design, environmental design and architecture for clients including Walt Disney Imagineering, the US Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, KPCC radio, restaurants and custom homes, sets and props for film and TV clients including Fiat, Porsche and Mattel.
